Passport Apostille
Foreign visa applications, dual citizenship proof, foreign bank accounts β most countries require an apostilled COPY of your U.S. passport.
π Important: The COPY Gets Apostilled, Not the Original
You don’t mail your actual passport to D.C. β you’d be without it for weeks. Instead, a notary makes a certified copy of the passport (with a notarial certificate attached), and that copy is what gets apostilled. We notarize the copy in-store, mobile, or via Remote Online Notary.
How a Passport Apostille Works
Bring your passport to APB Notary
In-store, mobile, or via secure RON video session. We see the original, make a photocopy, and attach a notarial certificate affirming it’s a true copy of the original.
We submit to the U.S. Department of State
Notarized passport copies go to the federal apostille office in Washington, D.C.
Receive the apostilled passport copy
We track, follow up, and return by FedEx or your preferred courier. You keep your actual passport the whole time.
Timeline
Total: plan on 3β5 weeks for a routine passport apostille. Rush options available.
