When You Need a Notarized Travel Consent
✈️ Minor traveling internationally without one or both parents
👴 Minor traveling with grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends, or a teacher
📚 Minor on a school trip requiring consent paperwork
👨👩👦 Divorced parents — non-traveling parent must sign consent
🛂 Minor traveling to Mexico or Central America — often requires apostilled consent
What to Bring
✅ The completed consent letter — typed, with the child’s full name, DOB, travel dates, destination, and accompanying adult’s information. Don’t sign before our visit.
✅ Both parents’ valid photo IDs — driver’s license, passport, state ID, or military ID (or just one parent’s if sole custody)
✅ Copy of the child’s birth certificate (often required as supporting documentation)
✅ Copy of the child’s passport if applicable
✅ Custody papers if one parent has sole custody
⚠️ Both parents must be physically present for signature — or each can come separately and we notarize each signature on a separate visit

Divorced or separated parents
The non-traveling parent must sign consent. We can notarize each parent separately if they can’t meet in person.

Sole custody
Bring certified copies of the custody order. Only the custodial parent needs to sign.

Deceased parent
Bring a certified copy of the death certificate. Surviving parent signs.
